Transform a modern restaurant into a stylist art gallery, a showcase of contemprary paintings by the Belgian born, Bangkok based International Artist, Christian Develter. The highly anticipated exhbition will be held at GLOW, part of the uber chic Metropolitan Hotel Bangkok from July 1st through to the 10th.

The aesthetic of Christian Develter, in particular his paintings of Asian women, is one of mystery. His paintings are portraits who do not speak nor appear to have anything to do if not being contemplated by the vieweror quite the opposite strike the viewer by their force.

Develter's work contributes to the history of painting, gripped in exploring new forms, colors and languages in a mannerthat is not conceptual, traditional or modern.

And what better way to portray Asians, painted from Black & White photographs, filled in with the colour of Develters brush? Asian culture, in itself is one of colour. The richness of fabrics, the depth of the hues, the scent of saffron and the intensisty of burning incense, everything has a colour.

Develter is a reviver, playing with colour, his favourite ones, the most vivid and simplest ones. For Christian Develter's aesthetic is also an aesthetic of simplicity: elegant and never boring.
